The Public Hearing scheduled by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) for Thursday,
February 20, 2025, on the proposed Lauderdale County Waste Transfer Station is cancelled.
JWC Environmental, LLC, has formally requested to withdraw the solid waste permit
application being considered
for the proposed operation of a municipal solid waste transfer station, known as the
Lauderdale County Waste
Transfer Station. The transfer station was proposed to be located at 3201 Southern Way Boulevard, Meridian, MS,
39303 which is located within the Key Brothers Industrial Park. MDEQ had previously scheduled a public hearing
to receive public comments on the proposed project at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Lauderdale
County Courthouse
Boardroom located at 612 22 nd Avenue South, Meridian, MS 39301. Again, this
scheduled
public hearing has been
cancelled due to the
withdrawal of the solid waste permit application being
considered.
