THE MISSISSIPPI
DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICESDIVISION OF COMMUNITY SERVICES
The Mississippi Department of Human Services-Division of Community Services will conduct a public hearing on the Low-Income
Weatherization Assistance Program under Title IV of the
Energy Conservation Act, as amended. The hearing for program year 2025 is
scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Training Room 802 at the
Mississippi Department of
Human Services, 200 South Lamar Street, Jackson,
Mississippi.
The purpose of the hearing is to discuss and receive public input on the program year 2025 state plan for the
Low-Income Weatherization Assistance Program. In
addition, a discussion will be
held on the program's service delivery system as well as the new program requirements and changes. The
Weatherization Assistance Program is administered by the Mississippi Department
of Human Services- Division of Community Services and
funded by the U. S.
Department of Energy. The mission of the program is to reduce heating and cooling costs for low-income
families, particularly the elderly, disabled and families with children by improving the energy efficiency of homes, ensure the health and safety of these individuals and provide a service delivery system which encompasses all 82 counties within the state.
Copies of the plan are
available to the public and may be obtained from the Division of Community Services by
calling (601)359-4768 or 1-800-421-0762.
Written comments will be
accepted through April 22, 2025. The public is invited to attend.
