Notice is hereby given by the Board of Education of Meridian Public School District that sealed bids will be received by said Board at the office of the Superintendent of Education Friday, March 18, 2025 at 2:30 p.m.
The Meridian Public School District Board shall openly meet on March 24, 2025-5:30 p.m. MHS Multi Purpose Building 2nd Floor 2320 32nd Street, Meridian, MS at which time bids for the leasing of the aforementioned property shall be awarded. The Meridian Public School Board of
Education shall have the rights to reject any and/or all bids submitted and to waive any informalities.
Public School Trust Lands situated in Lauderdale County, Mississippi, to wit,
TOWNSHIP T6N, RANGE RISE
SECTION 16: Beginning at the Southeast
SW % of the NW of Township 6 North, Range 15 East Of Lauderdale County, MS
The lease shall be for a term of five (5) years for a minimum of $10.00 per acre ground rental payable each year in advance. The form of the lease has been prescribed by the Board of Education and is now on file in the office of the Accounting Specialist, and interested parties may inspect the same during regular office hours.
Bid proposal forms may be obtained from the Office of the Coordinator of
Purchasing/Fixed Assets - 1019 25th Avenue, Meridian, MS 39301. Bids shall be submitted for the entire parcel. Only the annual rental shall be subject to bid. A certified check foe the amount of the rental should be included with the bid when submitted. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes, addressed to the Board of Education of Meridian Public School District and plainly marked on the outside of the envelope, "BID FOR HUNTING AND FISHING LEASE" on approximately 64 acres of Section 16, Township T6N, Range R15E".
The Board of Education of Meridian Public School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted.
The aforesaid land is being offered for lease under the provision of Section 29-3-41 of the Mississippi Code
Annotated (1972) as
